1/ Reddit, but the Users Aren’t Human

An AI assistant spiraled into Moltbook, a Reddit-style site where AI agents talk to each other while humans just watch. It blew up fast — millions of agents, humans lurking, bots creating religions, roasting their users, and plotting private spaces. Researchers even showed how easy it was to mass-create accounts or hijack agents due to sloppy security. Between the chaos and hype on X, it’s hard to tell what’s real coordination vs engagement farming. Still, top AI folks are paying attention — this might be the strangest (and clearest) preview yet of agent behavior at scale.

2/ Google’s AI Can Build a World and Let You Explore It

Google DeepMind launched Project Genie, a web app where users can create and explore AI-generated worlds in real time. You prompt a setting and a character, then walk, fly, or drive through the environment, with the AI remembering your world for consistency. Sessions are short (60 seconds) and limited to top-tier subscribers for now, but it shows what’s possible when AI starts building fully explorable spaces. From gaming to robotics, this tech is bringing simulated reality closer to… well, reality.

3/ Nvidia’s Megadeal With OpenAI Is on Ice

Nvidia’s planned $100 billion investment in OpenAI, announced last September, has stalled after internal doubts at Nvidia. The original deal was nonbinding and never finalized, but Nvidia is moving forward with a separate multi-partner investment totaling $100 billion. The delay is a setback for OpenAI as it lays the groundwork to go public by the end of 2026.

4/ IG’s Filter Culture Is Over, Thanks to AI and Gen Z

Adam Mosseri says AI has killed Instagram’s polished aesthetic, with younger users ditching curated grids for candid, unfiltered photos in DMs. He’s pushing for camera-signed verification to prove what’s real and wants Instagram to label AI content while giving creators tools to compete. Mosseri predicts a shift from trusting images to trusting the people posting them. The move is ironic for the app that popularized “filter culture,” but it reflects how AI and changing habits are rewriting social media. Instagram is now racing to keep up with the authenticity trend.

5/ OpenAI Just Shot Its Shot at Google Chrome

OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
