Rent-a-Human is the internet’s latest “wait… what?” moment—a platform where humans sign up to do real-world tasks for AI agents that can’t physically exist yet. Built by a crypto engineer riding the AI agent hype, it’s basically TaskRabbit for bots, branding itself as the “meatspace layer for AI” (yes, really). Tasks are simple for now—package pickups, holding signs, delivering flowers—but over 80,000 people have already signed up. It’s unclear if the whole thing is satire or dead serious, but the aggressive promo and straight-faced copy suggest it’s not joking. Either way, it feels less sci-fi dystopia and more “the future is weird and arrived early.

Anthropic just aired a Super Bowl campaign taking shots at ads inside AI chats, pledging to keep Claude completely ad-free. The ads parody helpful AI conversations getting interrupted, with the line “Ads are coming to AI. But not to Claude.” OpenAI fired back, arguing that free, ad-supported ChatGPT does more good than Anthropic’s paid-only model. Sam Altman even called the campaign dishonest, saying OpenAI would never run intrusive ads. It’s a clean clash between paid, ad-free AI and free, mass-market AI—and the user gap makes it messy.

Kling just dropped version 3.0, rolling text-to-video, image-to-video, and native audio into one unified AI video model. It now supports longer 15-second clips, auto-generated multi-shot camera angles, and way better character and scene consistency using reusable visual “anchors.” Audio is a big upgrade too, with voice cloning for multiple characters and multilingual dialogue baked in. It’s Ultra-tier only for now, but this pushes Kling even closer to full-on AI video production workflows.

Adam Mosseri says AI has killed Instagram’s polished aesthetic, with younger users ditching curated grids for candid, unfiltered photos in DMs. He’s pushing for camera-signed verification to prove what’s real and wants Instagram to label AI content while giving creators tools to compete. Mosseri predicts a shift from trusting images to trusting the people posting them. The move is ironic for the app that popularized “filter culture,” but it reflects how AI and changing habits are rewriting social media. Instagram is now racing to keep up with the authenticity trend.

OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
