OpenAI just dropped a ton of updates at Dev Day 2025, basically turning ChatGPT into an all-in-one platform. Users can now chat with and build apps right inside ChatGPT — with Canva, Figma, Spotify, and Zillow already on board. A new AgentKit lets anyone build custom agents with visual tools and workflows, while GPT-5-Codex now plays nice with Slack and enterprise systems. Developers also get API access to GPT-5 Pro, Sora 2, and a cheaper realtime voice model. In short, ChatGPT’s slowly becoming less of a chatbot and more of a browser you can talk to.
OpenAI and Jony Ive’s much-hyped screen-free AI device is hitting some turbulence. According to FT, the team’s struggling to make the assistant sound helpful without turning into a nonstop chatterbox — and cloud capacity issues aren’t helping. The gadget, said to be about smartphone-sized and always on, might miss its 2026 debut. With ex-Apple and Meta engineers on board, this project was supposed to redefine how we interact with tech… but even the AI giants are finding hardware harder than hype.
Researchers at Duke University just unveiled TuNa-AI — a platform that mixes robotics and machine learning to design smarter nanoparticles for drug delivery. It tested over 1,200 formulations and boosted success rates by 43% compared to old-school methods. The system even made a tough leukemia drug dissolve better and kill more cancer cells, all while cutting toxic ingredients by 75%. By handling both material choice and mix ratios at once, TuNa outsmarts current tools. In short, it’s a big step toward making once-failed drugs actually work.
Meta is spicing up Facebook Dating with AI, rolling out two new features aimed at killing swipe fatigue. The first is a dating assistant chatbot that uses text prompts to surface better matches and even drop profile tips or date ideas. Instead of sticking to basics like age or education, it digs into unique interests to make things more personal. The second, called Meet Cute, skips swiping altogether by delivering a surprise match each week. It’s Meta’s way of standing out from Tinder and Bumble, though the real test will be making sure AI doesn’t serve up awkward, off-base matches.
OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
