3/ ChatGPT Just Became an App Store (Sort Of)

OpenAI just expanded its ChatGPT app directory, letting third-party developers submit their tools while giving users a hub to browse and connect services. The directory now has categories like Featured, Lifestyle, and Productivity, and apps like Photoshop, Canva, DoorDash, Spotify, and Zillow can be used directly in chats. Developers can build with a beta SDK and sample resources, though revenue options are still limited for now. 4/ OpenAI Confirms Mixpanel Breach, Chat Data Stays Safe

OpenAI says its analytics vendor Mixpanel got hit by a security incident where an attacker grabbed some API users’ profile info like names, emails, and device details — but none of the sensitive stuff was touched. No chats, API keys, payment data, or credentials were leaked, and regular ChatGPT users weren’t affected at all. OpenAI cut Mixpanel off immediately and is notifying anyone impacted. The real risk now is phishing, since leaked emails can be used for trickier scams. Overall, it’s a reminder that third-party tools can open doors even when the main system stays locked.

OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it.
