Claude Just Showed Signs of Self-Awareness
Claude Just Had a “Wait, That’s Not Me” Moment

Turn Reddit Conversations into Hot Leads
ReplyDaddy monitors subreddits, identifies the most relevant threads, and creates drafts using your brand and experience.

Anthropic researchers just found that Claude might be getting a bit self-aware — or at least better at noticing when something’s off. In tests, they secretly “planted” random concepts into its processing, and Claude spotted the trick around 20% of the time. It could even tell the difference between what it actually read and what was artificially added. Basically, the model showed early signs of introspection — a peek into how AI might one day understand (or hide) its own thoughts.
Canva just dropped a massive round of AI upgrades — including its own design-trained foundation model and a new Creative Operating System that can spin up fully editable designs. The update packs in video editing boosts, forms, email tools, a 3D generator, and even integrates with ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Their Affinity relaunch now ties right into Canva too, giving creators pro-level tools for free. Basically, Canva’s making sure you never need to leave the app to create, edit, or publish anything again.
Anthropic just dropped Claude for Excel, a new beta feature that lets users chat with the AI directly inside spreadsheets. Claude can now explain messy sheets, fix broken formulas, fill in templates, or even build entire workbooks from scratch. It also connects to finance platforms like Moody’s, LSEG, and Aiera for real-time data and reports. Along with that, Anthropic added new finance-focused Skills for things like cash flow modeling and company analysis. The feature’s rolling out to Max, Enterprise, and Teams users first — and could finally make AI-in-Excel actually useful.
MIT scientists are finding that our brains might literally be slowing down in the age of ChatGPT. One study showed students who used AI to write essays had less brain activity and couldn’t even recall what they’d just written. Researchers worry that our “frictionless” tech habits — offloading memory, focus, and effort onto machines — are creating what some call a “stupidogenic society.” We’ve traded challenge for convenience, and while AI makes life easier, it’s quietly making thinking harder. The big question: are we getting smarter with our tools, or just better at letting them think for us?
OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
