AWS and Google Cloud just teamed up to make multicloud networking way less painful. Instead of customers wrestling with cables, long wait times, and DIY setups, the two built a joint, cloud-native system that lets you spin up private, high-speed connections between AWS and Google Cloud in minutes. It’s automated, secure, quad-redundant, and built on an open spec that other cloud providers can adopt. Basically, multicloud just went from “weeks of hassle” to “click and go,” pushing the whole industry toward a more open, easy-to-connect future.

Chinese AI startup DeepSeek just dropped V3.2 and V3.2-Speciale, reasoning models that rival GPT-5 and Gemini 3 Pro but at a tiny fraction of the cost. The Speciale version even snagged top spots at the 2025 Math and Informatics Olympiads, proving it’s no joke. Both models are massive 685B-parameter beasts, open-sourced under an MIT license, and freely available on Hugging Face. With prices way below U.S. competitors, DeepSeek is shaking up the AI landscape and putting pressure on premium API providers to justify their fees.

Nvidia just dropped $2 billion into Synopsys to tighten their partnership and boost the chip-design process with more GPU power. Synopsys will shift its design tools from CPU to GPU computing, aiming for faster workflows and a stronger long-term outlook after recent IP segment struggles. The investment also gives Nvidia even more influence over the chip-design stack at a time when industry competition is heating up. It’s a big confidence move, especially as some major investors have been cashing out of Nvidia lately.

OpenAI says its analytics vendor Mixpanel got hit by a security incident where an attacker grabbed some API users’ profile info like names, emails, and device details — but none of the sensitive stuff was touched. No chats, API keys, payment data, or credentials were leaked, and regular ChatGPT users weren’t affected at all. OpenAI cut Mixpanel off immediately and is notifying anyone impacted. The real risk now is phishing, since leaked emails can be used for trickier scams. Overall, it’s a reminder that third-party tools can open doors even when the main system stays locked.

OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
