Alibaba just dropped a whole lineup of new Qwen3 models, including a massive 1T parameter beast called Qwen-Max. Max is already showing near-frontier skills in coding and agent tasks, while its Heavy version even nailed perfect scores on tough math reasoning tests. Then there’s Qwen-Omni, which handles text, images, audio, and video, plus speech in nearly 20 languages. The release also includes a top-tier visual model (VL), real-time translation tools, upgraded coders, and safety-focused Guard models. Unlike OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google’s slower rollouts, Alibaba is flooding the market fast — and Qwen is looking like China’s strongest frontier push since DeepSeek.

NYU research shows AI has officially conquered the CFA exams—yep, all three levels, including the brutal essay section that used to trip them up. In a recent test, nine out of 23 models passed, with OpenAI’s o4-mini leading at nearly 80%, and Google’s Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude not far behind. What takes humans years of study and 1,000+ hours, these models crank out in minutes. Even human graders scored their essays higher than machines did. The big takeaway? AI is now nailing the analysis side, leaving the real human edge in areas like judgment, context, and building client trust.

Nvidia and OpenAI just dropped a massive announcement: they’re teaming up on what’s being called the biggest AI infrastructure project ever. Nvidia plans to invest up to $100B into OpenAI as the two build out 10 gigawatts worth of GPU systems to power the next wave of AI. The first chunk of this mega project is set to go live in 2026 on Nvidia’s new Vera Rubin platform. For Nvidia, it secures OpenAI as a huge long-term customer, and for OpenAI, it’s the compute and capital boost needed to keep pushing toward superintelligence. Some are already calling it an infinite money loop, but either way, it’s a historic bet on the future of AI.

Meta is spicing up Facebook Dating with AI, rolling out two new features aimed at killing swipe fatigue. The first is a dating assistant chatbot that uses text prompts to surface better matches and even drop profile tips or date ideas. Instead of sticking to basics like age or education, it digs into unique interests to make things more personal. The second, called Meet Cute, skips swiping altogether by delivering a surprise match each week. It’s Meta’s way of standing out from Tinder and Bumble, though the real test will be making sure AI doesn’t serve up awkward, off-base matches.

OpenAI says it’d totally be down to buy Google Chrome—if the courts ever force Google to sell it. The comment came during a major antitrust trial where the DOJ is trying to break up Google’s dominance in online search. Google’s not having it, insisting Chrome isn’t up for grabs and calling the lawsuit bogus. OpenAI previously tried partnering with Google (no luck), and now it’s riding with Microsoft and Bing. Meanwhile, Google’s flexing Gemini, and OpenAI might even be cooking up its own social network. The AI wars just keep getting juicier.
